The Friends of the Waco McLennan County Library 4th Annual Mini Book Sale will be held two days of the first weekend in June, Friday and Saturday, June 6th and 7th, 2014, at the West Waco Library. Both days the sale will run from 10am until 6pm.

bookFor the last few years, around the time school is out, we try to offer the public a variety of kids’ books and novels for adults to read during summer vacation. Last year we even put some History and Biography on the tables to see if there was any interest, and there was! This year we will try to see if that interest continues.

Not at the Extraco Events Center like the big sale in November, this Mini Book Sale fits quite well in the West Waco Library’s front Meeting Room.

The books are priced between fifty cents and a dollar and a half each, who can possibly resist that?! There will be both hard backs and paper backs from which to choose. The children’s books are arranged according to child’s age, from Easy Reader to Juvenile Fiction to Young Adult. The novels aimed at adults will be arranged alphabetically by author.

This is a fundraiser for the Friends of the Library, the proceeds of which will go to help support the entire Waco McLennan County Library System. This includes support for libraries in Waco, McGregor, West, Moody, Hewitt, and Mart. The profits from this sale, along with profits from the November sale, membership dues, gifts and other income, are spent on enhancements to the libraries including new books, equipment, youth and summer programs, and library staff enrichment opportunities.
